Modern Boston condo with a view

Location:
Boston, MA

Turning a non-descript unit with a view into a cozy and personal living space takes vision. Adding custom millwork creates necessary storage, and custom pieces add warmth and character to the rooms. For example, a custom-designed double sofa anchors the living room and provides comfortable seating for outside views. At the same time, on the reverse, a chaise serves as a cozy couch for conversation.

A dining room table with a chic custom banquette helped create necessary seating without excess chairs. In the primary bedroom, a custom bed with a velvet floor-to-ceiling channel-tufted headboard, wire-brushed oak side panels, and integrated bedside tables add visual drama to an intimate space.

For the office, custom built-ins of stained white oak with knurled hardware make logical use of the utilitarian room. Steel and glass doors act like an interior window, allowing a peek into the space while creating privacy to work. Personally curated art pieces, statement lighting fixtures, and textured and patterned wallpaper add meaningful touches. In the cooking space, a fantastical one-of-a-kind backsplash, which combines intricate wire patterns with an antique mirror, is the crowning touch that makes this space feel truly one-of-a-kind.
